Student FAQ

Will my Liquid Textbook work in IE?

Yes, however if you are having difficulties do try another browser such as Firefox
Firefox
Safari
Chrome

I forgot or lost my ID/PW, how can I get it back?

Email symtextsupport@symtext.com and give your full name and email address.

I can access my Liquid Textbook but all the pages are blank, what’s wrong?

You need to download and install (or update) Flash on your computer. (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/). You will need to restart your browser once the install is complete. Also, check that Flash is enabled in your browser and that your security settings are not blocking it.

Can I search for words in my Liquid Textbook?

You may search any item for a word.
Type the word you wish to find in the search bar, located on the right side or the item and on the top of the item.

The search will locate and highlight all instances of the word in the item and generate a list in the search tab of all that instances of the word in the Liquid Textbook.

Can I print?

You may print an item using the small print icon in the top left corner of each item.

What is the difference between “Notes” and “Comments”

“Notes” are private and may been seen by only you. All members of the class including the instructor may read “Comments”.

How do I share a comment with the class?

  • Click “Annotations and Comments”
  • Write comment in the textbox
  • Click “Post”

To add a comment for highlighted text :

  • Select the curser tool, located on the top of the item
  • Select text using the curser
  • Write a note in the textbox
  • Click “Post”

I am trying to highlight some text but the highlighting keeps disappearing, how do I make it stay highlighted?

You can make a portion of text remain highlighted by attaching a note (private) or comment (public) to it.
To do this :

  • Select the curser tool, located on the top of the item
  • Select text using the curser
  • Write a note in the textbox
  • Click “Post”

I am trying to print and it will only print the first ten pages of a document! How can I print the entire document?

Most likely you have too many programs running and Flash requires more memory to print the entire document. Close all programs, other than your browser, and try again.
